Performance Coaching or Sales Training?
Written on November 22, 2010 at 12:07 pm, by Lucie Dickens
Web definition: Coaching that is generally done within an organization or corporation, focusing on the skills and competencies required for optimum performance to meet expectations.
Wiki Definition: Training is the acquisition of knowledge, skills, and competencies as a result of the teaching of vocational or practical skills and knowledge that relate to specific useful competencies. It forms the core of apprenticeships and provides the backbone of content at institutes of technology .
We all know that Training required for a business life, will need to continue beyond initial qualifications: to maintain and update skills throughout working life. This is referred to as professional development.
Professional development is also done on a smaller more personal level for individuals and SME’s. One aspect is Performance Coaching.
I have been asked, How do I know if I need Performance Coaching? Why not just go on a sales course?
Performance Coaching will help you develop goals and strategies, motivation and belief to achieve what you want in life and business. It works for individuals either as part of a team or a sole trader. Many of us have the tools and techniques, gained from “sales” courses, to succeed. Its knowing how to use them to perform in our chosen forum.
Performance coaching and Sales techniques in one. Now thats an idea!
Well it just happens that one of our associates has developed such a course.
To quote Andy Jackson
“If there’s only one training event you attend this year, make it the Ultimate Sales Performance programme as this is the one that gives you all you need to be able to increase your sales results so that you’re achieving much, much more.”
- Have you ever been to sales training where you’ve learned loads of great theory? I bet you have
- Have you ever been to sales training that has developed your practical skills at selling? Absolutely
- Have you ever been to sales training that helps you achieve a positive, empowering attitude? Maybe
They believe that the best way to achieve the best sales results is to integrate these approaches to learning. We agree, techniques are great but what is the point if you do not have the motivation to put them to good effect.
This link will take you to their dedicated course site. You can book for a free taster seminar on the 26th November or give Andy a call he will be more than happy to answer any of your questions.

Could taking a small time out for personal or staff development make a difference in the bigger scheme? Of course.
For YOU, training can be used to boost self confidence, you probably know all you need for a given environment. A new perspective or refresher brings it all to the fore and boosts your own motivation and self confidence. When you feel confident and motivated you achieve more and it sends the vibe along the line to your staff. Resulting in increased performance and profit.
For STAFF, training can be used as a reward or as motivation. Something new to experience.
Business training needs arise from any number of places, from new starters, staff promotions, business developments to performance problems. Training needs will also differ with the backgrounds of the employees to be trained. When your staff feel confident and motivated they achieve more and it sends the vibe around the business community. Resulting in increased performance and profit.

Behavioural change leads to attitude change.
Written on May 25, 2010 at 1:13 pm, by Lucie Dickens
You cannot change the way people think and feel, and who give us the right to try, but you can change their behaviour and the way they interact with colleagues in the workplace. Most people in the work place have issues with not feeling appreciated or that management do not listen to them. Why should they speak up and interact, this is usually from past experience. Dont be one of the few, be one of the many, listen and appreciate your staff and show it. Communication is a 2 way thing, talk and most importantly LISTEN and RESPOND.
On the 13th May we met a great team of people who can help you influence your staff towards (in their words) a Stellar Performance.
They offer a free breakfast so they can present their idea and method to you, I highly recommend you go and see them, I did I left with a big smile on my face.
We will be posting dates and venues soon, but if you are interested in hearing more get in touch.

What is the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator – (MBTI® )
Written on April 28, 2010 at 11:48 am, by Lucie Dickens
What is MBTI® ?
MBTI® is a psychometric assessment questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions.
The MBTI® questionnaire provides a highly insightful framework for individual and group development, provoking self-awareness by looking at how a person perceives the world and how they prefer to interact with others. It is used in a variety of applications including personal development, change management and team building.
For the individual, MBTI® can be used to get a clearer understanding of your own needs and preferences.
For Business, the MBTI® tool sorts individuals into psychological ‘types’ so that they can identify how they are similar to some people and different to others, and how they can improve their working and personal relationships in a positive and constructive way.
How does it work?
- Decide on the specific purpose of the development.
- Complete the MBTI® questionnaire on-line or on paper.
- Hold a feedback session where preferences are self-assessed based on descriptions from the practitioner.
- Give results from the questionnaire and asked if the respondent agrees with them.
- Decide on ‘best-fit type’ based on the results of the questionnaire and on self-assessment.
- Use type to understand self and others in the workplace or elsewhere.
We can provide 1:1 MBTI assessment and MBTI group feedback sessions, team building events based around understanding each other’s differences and improving communication & relationships tailored to the specific needs of a team.
Find Me a Trainer works with Claire Alexander who is a qualified MBTI® practitioner. Contact us for further information.

Greetings and salutations
Welcome to the new Find Me a Trainer internet portal for all your training requirements. Well thats how I like to view it. It all started with a friend of a friend in a small business needing PRINCE2 training for staff and not having the time to source it. Me having dabbled to some degree in such things helped out and it snowballed from there, PRINCE2, Word, Excel, First aid and the list is growing.
Stop by, see our new schedule and ask us for what you need. We are growing and its taking time to populate the calendar.
Ask and ye shall receive.
Lucie
